MITAM
Please note! In accordance with the decision of the MITAM Steering Committee, the following changes will be made to the MITAM test beginning in 2023:
1. The test will be shortened: The Knowledge and Comprehension of Statistics and Research Methods in Psychology will consist of 30 questions; time allotted will be 100 minutes. The Comprehension of Scientific Texts in Psychology will consist of three texts (40 questions in all); time allotted will be 145 minutes.
2. The scores on the two test sections will be weighted differently when calculating the general test score: The score on the Knowledge and Comprehension of Statistics and Research Methods in Psychology will be given a weight of 40% and the score on the Comprehension of Scientific Texts in Psychology will be given a weight of 60% .
The scores for the test given in the new format will be calculated relative to scores on tests given during previous test administrations. Likewise, scores that were given during previous test administrations will still be valid for purposes of academic admissions, as per the procedure outlined here.
MITAM is a uniform national test used to sort applicants to Master’s programs in psychology.
