Special Test Accommodations - MOR & MIRKAM

Special test accommodations are only granted to examinees with a disability that seriously affects their functioning, in order to maintain fairness for all examinees in the test.

Candidates who believe that they are entitled to special test accommodations for filling out the personal/biographical questionnaire, because of severe physical limitations or writing disabilities that are liable to interfere with functioning while filling out the questionnaire, should submit an application to the Special Test Accommodations unit at NITE. The application should specify whether special test accommodations are being requested for filling out the personal/biographical questionnaire at the MOR system or at the MIRKAM system. The application should be submitted before receiving the invitation to the MOR or MIRKAM screening system, and should reach the Special Test Accommodations unit at NITE, with supporting documentation, no later than the date specified each year on the websites of the educational institutions and NITE. The application should be accompanied by a signed statement using the form at the following link: statement accompanying a request for special test accommodations. Detailed instructions on how to submit the application and the supporting documentation required may be found on the NITE website. Handling the request does not guarantee a test invitation - the list of invitees for the test is determined exclusively by the universities.

The decision to accept or deny the request will be received up to 25 days after the request reaches NITE. This decision may be appealed, as explained on the NITE website, but the appeal must also reach NITE no later than the date specified on the websites of the educational institutions and NITE. Handling the request and any appeals takes time, so we recommend submitting requests as early as possible and not waiting until the last minute.

All of the above also applies to candidates who have applied to medical schools and have not yet received an invitation to the MOR or MIRKAM systems, but also have not received a notification of rejection.

As requested by the educational institutions, NITE communicates every item of information relevant to the application to study medicine to the medical schools to which the candidate has applied. This includes the documentation supporting requests for special test accommodations.
