Retaking a Test with Special Accommodations

The law prohibits NITE from assigning you to a test with special accommodations unless you submit an explicit request. This is true even if you received special accommodations for a test given on a previous test date. Therefore, unless you inform NITE of your desire to take a test with special accommodations before the close of registration, we will not be able to confirm that you are eligible for special test accommodations and you will be tested under regular conditions.

Note! If you are submitting a request because of a physical or mental limitation, it is important to make sure that your documentation is current, i.e., issued no more than a year before the date of the test for which you are registering. If the professional opinion you submitted previously was not issued in the past year, you will need to provide a new one.

If you received special accommodations for a test in the past, and you wish to be tested with special accommodations again, select one of the following options at the time that you register:

Reapplication on the Basis of Existing Documentation

If you select this option, the professional staff will review your request for special accommodations on the basis of documents already on file.
You will receive an SMS confirming receipt of your application.

Please note: If you do not receive an SMS after submitting your request, log back onto the website and make sure you completed the process properly.

Once you select this option, any appeal or submission of additional documents is subject to a fee.

Reapplication with Additional Documentation for Professional Staff Review

If you wish to receive additional accommodations or submit updated documents, you may submit additional documents for the professional staff to consider after you register for the test. To do so:

  • Log onto the website. Click on the test you registered for and then on “special accommodations” and follow the instructions. You will receive an SMS confirmation of receipt of your application.
Please note: If you do not receive an SMS after submitting your request, log back onto the website and make sure you completed the process properly.
  • Do not attach documents that you have submitted in the past.

Your application will be reviewed based on the documents we have on file and additional ones that you attach.

Additional documents may be sent via Israel Post or hand delivered to NITE.

Note: Once you have submitted your application, submission of additional documents or lodging an appeal is subject to a fee.

I want to change the date of my test to another date after I received special test accommodations. What do I do?

  1. Log onto the NITE website and change the test date to the one you want.
  2. Notify the Special Test Accommodations Unit that you want to receive the same test accommodations that were already approved by sending an email to: bamot@nite.org.il. On the subject line, write “Request for Special Accommodations for a Different Test Date”. In the body of the email, provide your full name, identity number, test date that you were originally registered for, and test date you are currently registered for.

Once your email is received, an automatic reply will be sent to you, stating that your letter has arrived at the correct email address.
Within several days, you should receive an email notifying you that your request is being processed. If you do not receive this email within a week, contact the Special Test Accommodations Unit by phone.

Note: If you fail to contact us before the test registration deadline, you will be tested under regular conditions.

You will not receive special accommodations if you register via late registration, even if you received special accommodations in the past.

Examinees who wish to submit additional documents for consideration need to register separately for a new test date and submit a request by the registration deadline for that test.
