How to Request Special Accommodations for the YAELNET Test

Special test accommodations are available only to examinees who registered via the NITE website for a test given in one of the NITE Test Centers located across Israel. It is not possible to receive special accommodations to take the test at any of the academic institutions.

Important Instructions

  • Because processing your request can take up to 25 business days, we recommend submitting the request and accompanying documents as early as possible.
  • You may submit a request for special accommodations up to four days before your test date. At that point, the registration system will be closed to further changes and you will not be able to make changes to your registration until the next test administration date, which will open several days after your test date.
  • If you have submitted documents in the past, they are kept on file. Please do not send them again.
  • Test dates for examinees who have received approval for special accommodations are likely to be different than test dates for examinees taking the test under regular conditions.
  • Note: There is a service fee for sending additional documents after you have already submitted your request, even if you have not yet received an answer.

How to Submit a Request for Special Test Accommodations?

  1. Before submitting a request, register for the test via the NITE website. During the registration process, select a test date and pay the registration fee.
  2. After receiving confirmation of registration for the test, log onto the website, select the YAELNET test for which you want special accommodations and click on “special test accommodations”.
  3. Select the reason for your request: learning disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), physical disability, mental health difficulties, autism spectrum disorder (you may select more than one).
  4. Fill out the questionnaire for your request by clicking “present questionnaire”.
  5. Attach all the documents required according to the reason for request that you selected.
  6. Confirm the details and submit the request. After the request is recorded in the system, you will receive confirmation via SMS. If you do not receive an SMS after submitting your request, log back onto the website and make sure you completed the process properly.
  7. Once your request is received, the test date you selected while registering will be canceled. Your request will be reviewed by the Special Test Accommodations Unit. After your request has been processed, you will receive a letter from the Special Test Accommodations Unit with instructions for selecting a new test date.

Instructions for Uploading Documents to the Website

  • The documents must be uploaded as PDF files, in their original size. They must be clear, legible and complete.
Documents that are not legible will not be processed.
  • Up to 20 files can be uploaded, therefore, it is recommended that you scan each document separately (for example, put each evaluation into a separate file). Try not to upload each page as a separate file. If you send school report cards, you should scan them into one file, in chronological order.
  • If the system warns you that a file you have uploaded is too big, divide it into two parts; make a note in the file name (i.e., Part 1, Part 2); and upload each file separately.

You may also submit a request via Israel Post or hand deliver it to the NITE offices.

In this case, submit all of the following documents:

  1. Applicant questionnaire, completed and signed twice as required (without this the request will not be processed)
  2. Document list form (without this the request will not be processed)
  3. Medical or diagnostic documents relevant to the reason you are requesting accommodations

Make sure that all photocopies are legible and full sized. Documents that are not legible will not be processed.
Note! Documents will not be returned, therefore send a legible copy and keep the original document.

Address for mail or hand delivery:
National Institute for Testing and Evaluation, P.O. Box 39020, Jerusalem 913001
Documents may only be hand delivered to the information desk at the NITE offices in Jerusalem, between the hours of 8:30 and 15:30 (please mark envelope “Special Test Accommodations Unit”).

You will receive an SMS with confirmation of receipt when processing of your request begins and the test date you selected during the registration process will be canceled. Your request will be reviewed by the Special Test Accommodations Unit. After your request has been processed, you will receive a response from the Special Test Accommodations Unit and instructions for selecting a new test date.
