How to Apply for Accommodations
Entrance Test for Advanced Degrees in Psychology (MITAM)
Applying Via the Website
Important points before you submit your request
- Register for the test before submitting the application.
- Only requests and supporting documents submitted before registration for the test closes will be accepted (with the exception of medical school admission tests).
- Processing and verification of the documents accompanying your application can take up to 25 business days.
- If you submit your request in the last month of registration, it is unlikely you will have enough time to submit additional documents or appeal the decision of the professional department.
- We recommend submitting the application and accompanying documents at least two months before registration for the test closes.
- If you have submitted documents in the past, they are kept on file. Please do not send them again.
- Note: There is a service fee for sending additional documents after you have already submitted your request - even if you have not yet received an answer - or for submitting an appeal.
- The professional staff of the Special Test Accommodations Unit accepts documents in Hebrew, English, and Arabic. Documents in any other language must be translated into one of the three languages mentioned above and submitted along with the original documents. As customary, translations must be notarized and accompanied by a translator’s affidavit.
Preparing to submit a request? Make sure you read the required documents for each type of application carefully.
How to Apply?
After receiving confirmation of your registration for the test, log onto the website. Under “List of My Tests”, choose the appropriate test and click on the orange arrow on the right side to open the relevant list. On the left, there will be a tab labeled “Test with Special Accommodations” - click on that in order to start the process of submitting an application.
- Select the reason for application: learning disorder; Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD); physical disability; emotional disability; autism spectrum disorder (you may select more than one). When submitting a request for accommodations on the basis of not being a native Hebrew speaker, select any of the above reasons for application and state explicitly in every section of the questionnaire that your request is based on native language.
- Click on the questionnaire, and fill it out.
- Attach all the documents required according to the grounds for application that you selected.
- Confirm the details and submit the request.
After the request is received by the system, you will receive confirmation of this via SMS.
Please note: If you do not receive an SMS after submitting your request, log back onto the website and make sure you completed the process properly.
We recommend that you save copies of all documents and questionnaires you submit to us in case you should need them in the future. For confidentiality and information security reasons, we cannot return documents to their senders.
Instructions for Uploading Documents to the Website
- The documents must be uploaded as PDF files, in their original size. They must be complete, legible and include all identifying information. Documents that do not meet these requirements will not be processed.
- Here is a link to a guide that will help you convert files to PDF format. It also contains explanations regarding maximum document size for upload as well as assistance if you are unable to upload a document - How to submit documents via the NITE website.
- Up to 20 files can be uploaded, therefore, it is recommended that you scan each document separately (for example, put each evaluation into a separate file). Try not to send each page as a separate file. If you send school report cards, you should scan then into one file, in chronological order.
- If the system warns you that a file you have uploaded is too big, divide it into two parts; make a note in the file name (i.e., Part 1, Part 2); and upload each file separately.
Please note: Documents that are sent via Israel Post or email or that are hand delivered will not be accepted. The only way to submit documents is by uploading them to your account on the NITE website.
