The YAEL Test Given Independently of the Psychometric Entrance Test Now Available in Computerized Format Only (YAELNET)

As of July 2023, the Hebrew Proficiency Test (YAEL) will be administered only in the computerized format (YAELNET). The YAELNET is administered at the NITE Test Centers in Haifa, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Beer Sheva throughout the year. For additional details, click here.

NITE will continue to offer the paper-and-pencil version of the YAEL test to examinees who take the Psychometric Entrance Test (PET) in a language other than Hebrew, at no additional cost; the YAEL will be given immediately following the PET.

Examinees who registered for the YAEL (independently of the PET) and were not able to take the test may log onto the website, select the YAEL on the date that they were registered to take it, click on “new test date”, and then select YAELNET for their preferred date and NITE Test Center location. Changing the test date will entail a service charge, as described elsewhere on the NITE website.

Please note: Examinees who registered to take the YAEL with special test accommodations will not be able to change their test date. Instead, they must cancel the registration for the YAEL test they did not take and then register for the YAELNET. Cancellation may be done only via the website. Examinees who cancel their registration will receive a refund of 85%. After registering for the YAELNET, examinees must submit a new request for special test accommodations, according to these guidelines.
