Reform of Administration Dates for NITE Tests

As of January 1, 2018, a revised test schedule for the Psychometric Entrance Test (PET), the AMIR, and the YAEL tests administered in Israel will come into effect. The decision to change the schedule is based on the results of a consumer survey that NITE conducted as part of ongoing efforts to improve its services. The reform will not raise test fees, which were actually lowered in February 2016.

Purpose of the reform:

To ensure that the primary populations of examinees (Hebrew speakers, Arabic speakers, and examinees eligible for special test accommodations) are offered the same number of test dates each year, and to make every test date accessible to all examinees without limitations.

Principles of the reform:

The PET, AMIR, and YAEL will be given four times per year: March/April, July, September, and December (the February test date has been cancelled).

The PET will be given in Hebrew and Arabic on all four of those test dates.

The PET, AMIR, and YAEL will be given with special test accommodations on all four of those test dates.

The PET will be administered in Russian, French, Spanish, and Combined/English on the March/April and July test dates, with and without special test accommodations. It will be possible to take the PET in any of these languages on consecutive test dates.

The PET will be administered in Spanish on the July test date only.

The PET will be administered in other languages in accordance with demand and the projected number of examinees.
